Maintaining the alignment of the spine and optimal nerve supply to the joint, along with specific manipulation to the jaw itself will relieve tension off the TMJ discs and allow the muscles, joint tissue and nerve supply to heal properly.
Symptoms that may occur with TMJ is dull aching pain around the ear, difficulty when biting, chewing, talking or opening and closing the mouth, clicking, popping or grating sound when opening or closing the mouth, earache, headache, lock jaw, or jaw pain.
Chiropractic treatments may alleviate some of symptoms of TMJ with a specific gentle adjustment with the combination of therapeutic modalities, such as cold laser and ultrasound.
